It is well known that geomagnetic activity is modulated by solar activity and ionospheric variability produced by lunar and solar tides (Campbell 1997; Richardson et al. 2002; Yamazaki and Richmond 2013; Yamazaki 2014).
More detailed investigation showed that this active period appeared to be a Steady Magnetic Convection event modulated by solar wind driving, and it is the topic of a subsection below.
Cosmic ray flux in our planetary system is primarily modulated by solar activity.
This suggests that the density and/or size distributions of aerosol particles might be modulated by solar activity (possibly by UV radiation).
Observations have demonstrated that ion outflow is modulated by solar wind forcing (Nilsson et al., 2010) and that particle fluxes are modulated at ion cyclotron frequencies down at altitudes of ∼300 km (Winningham et al., 2006) and at longer time frames (Duru et al., 2008).
Linear trend in CAPE is drawn showing a slight increase in CAPE like at other stations but with no clear trend in temperature (not shown), which apparently modulated by solar cycle signal, which is reflected very well around 1994 19999 (shown in Section 3.3).
