The final direct interaction network displayed a synergy between these two minimally-overlapping datasets, allowing broad characterization of pathological changes in reactive astrocytes, and defining network modules potentially implicated in the shift to neurotoxicity.
The largest modules are strongly implicated in post-translational protein modifications and signal transduction processes (e.g., Modules 5, 10 and 16).
The involvement of TA modules in gene expression may also be relevant to adaptation of prokaryotes to new environments, and TA modules have been implicated in the formation of persister cells which can survive exposure to antimicrobials and other stresses that are otherwise fatal [ 50].

So the only enriched functional cluster for this module contained genes implicated in cilium function (Table 3).
