Further molecular and cellular studies will be required to investigate differences in cellular signalling in the different disorders.

"There are many people with many different disorders who require the input of a clinical psychologist.
In practice, though, the lines dividing different disorders are blurry.
"There can be healthy examples of [flat nosed] breeds, but the inherent body shape that they have is high risk for many different disorders," said Packer.
The issues being investigated are pretty similar, the different disorders raise the same questions about causes and, indeed, there are no sharp boundaries between the diagnoses.
