"white out" is a correct and commonly used phrase in written English.
It refers to the act of covering up mistakes or errors, either by physically using correction fluid or by metaphorically trying to hide them. Example: After making several spelling mistakes, the student decided to use white out on her paper before turning it in to the teacher.
