We review palaeoenvironmental data for southeastern Spain, a landscape vulnerable to desertification and with antiquity of human pressure on the landscape.
Results indicated that regarding climate criterion the studied area classified in high vulnerable to desertification hazard, in othe word shows a high-risk class of desertification as 65% of the studied area are susceptible in relation to climate factors.
In Ethiopia, the farming community is the most vulnerable social group; even within the farming community, small-scale subsistence farmers and pastoralists are more vulnerable to climate change related hazards like drought; and dry sub-humid, semi-arid and arid areas are also vulnerable to desertification and drought (Temesgen 2006; Ministry of Finance and Economic Development/MoFED 2007).
