All the membrane materials were heated for 3 h at 100 °C in a hot air oven for moisture removal.
The raw materials were heated from 20 to 850°C using 2°C/min rate and maintained at this temperature for 12 h at least.
The materials were heated to 200 °C at a rate of 10 °C/min, cooled down to room temperature at the same rate, and then reheated to 200 °C in DSC system.
When the materials were heated from 25too 800 °C, the thermogravimetric curves are shown in Fig. 9a; it illustrated that the initial major weight loss of chitosan and the chitin raw material occurred at approximately 250 °C, but TO-Chitin and DE-Chitin started their thermal degradation at 210 and 235 °C, respectively.
When the tube furnace was pumped to 8 Torr by a mechanical pump, the starting materials were heated to 950 °C from room temperature in 30 min and kept at 950 °C for 15 min. After this process, the furnace was cooled down to room temperature in several hours.
Two stages of decomposition are the key step of pyrolysis since they took up half or more of the reaction time; melting step consumed another half of reaction time in experiments when raw materials were heated up from ambient temperatures; and coke-like deposition appeared as a result of decomposition completion.

In such materials, iodine is stabilized in aluminum matrix and is released when the materials are heated and ignited.
However the bonds between particles are not as strong as LOM or SLS manufactured parts where materials are heated to a molten state for bonding and strength of 3DP parts are mainly dependant on infiltration method [66].
This result indicates that the sintering phenomenon during annealing process, in which individual nanostructures merge together to form large structures, becomes important when materials are heated to elevated temperatures [24].
If the material were heated slowly, the interaction between atoms would no longer be able to keep all the spins neatly aligned, and the magnetic order would disappear in a process somewhat like the melting of a solid, Kimel says.
