At Icebreaker, I tried on a zip-up mock turtleneck with one of those tabs atop the zipper to prevent jowl chafe ($105) and a gray-and-black horizontal stripe cardigan ($160) that could have passed for H&M.
"Who wants to look tranny-tastic?" Bergdorf was rife with tempting distractions, not least a tawny Jil Sander raincoat, with a zip-up white turtleneck liner.
