It might just be that we are debating too much over the plans for ground zero (front page, July 17).
"Goldman Sachs Decides to Stay at Ground Zero" (front page, Aug. 11) provides an interesting counterpoint to an increasingly prevalent view of business called "corporate social responsibility".
"Far From Business as Usual: A Quick Job at Ground Zero" (front page, Jan . 21 describes the remarkable performance of the unionized construction industry in cleaning up the World Trade Center disaster.
I didn't think I would feel this way, but now that I've seen the underwhelming proposals for ground zero (front page, July 17), I long to see the twin towers rebuilt -- if not replicas, then at least something that stands above everything else.
In "2 Firefighters Killed in Blaze at Ground Zero" (front page, Aug. 19), Catherine McVay Hughes, a member of Community Board 1 and chairwoman of its World Trade Center Redevelopment Committee, said that "the community is devastated" and has asked if boxes containing debris or asbestos caught fire.
