If finances are a struggle, it's worth investigating whether your university offers bursaries – most do, and they can be a great help for your student budget.
It's important to think about practicalities like accommodation and bursaries; your new choice may not have a guarantee of a place in halls, and you could lose deposits you have put down at your original choice.
You can also apply for a Students Outside Scotland bursary, which will reduce your loan entitlement.
