"When you change the gearbox you need to make sure it's all pointing in the right direction.
Equally, you can't go to the first test with only one gearbox, you have to have two or three in case there are problems.
This isn't a very potent motor, but it's peppy enough, and with a manual gearbox you can get all the gumption out of it that you'll need for most trips.
To get both the big engine and that gearbox, you have to get the Accord Coupe, which has about the same interior dimensions as the TSX, but lacks back doors, so it's a less convenient car to own overall.
When opening the gearbox you might want to slip a thin screwdriver inside the hole on the gearbox which is behind the spring guide.
With the stern well clear of the bank, slowly and calmly move the throttle to its lowest forward setting (or just move the throttle a touch forward until you feel the gearbox engage, then move back to tickover).

Although you'll be able to get an automatic or six-speed manual gearbox, if you want the auto, we think you might want to wait a few months for the Sequential Manual Gearbox that will be available in both models next spring (the car debuts this coming winter).
Breaking that statement down, we mean that the leather seat ($1,450 option for leather) is perfectly bolstered for harder driving but comfortable for daily cruising as well; the steering wheel is right-sized for playful, even aggressive driving; and the shifter is just beyond right angles for most arms, so you're never limp-wristed as you crank through the gearbox.
