So the argument seemed to be when you get to finance you don't have to worry about externalities, and yes you have to worry about perfect competition but once you've got perfect competition that's the end of the story.
Oh, and you can also build a multi-billion-dollar company with a cult-like following of users at the same time (yes, I'm talking about you, Oculus).
Companies who meet that demand will have a clear cut advantage; and those that don't… well, I don't see them being around much longer, unless the government forces you to use them or subsidizes them completely (yes, I'm talking about you, U.S. Postal Service).
