This was taken forward in a Medical Research Council (MRC) Population Health Sciences Research Network (PHSRN) funded workshop on population health economics in Glasgow, May 2012.
In order to identify the pertinent challenges, a public health workshop on "Indigenous Populations Health Protection" was held on May 7-8 , 2012[ 4], at the CDM in York University.
In 1600 there were only 4.1 million English people, but sharp improvements in agricultural productivity, and the early stirrings of workshop industry, raised the population to 5.7 million by 1750.

For all communities, only small proportions of the population attended workshops and outcomes depended on their views.
Documentation of this phenomenon highlights the need to target resources to educate this population using workshops, debates, fliers and other educational tools, as described by Jamieson [ 22].
The idea for this initiative originated during a workshop on Multiparent Advanced Generation Inter-Cross (MAGIC) populations (http://mus.well.ox.ac.uk/19genomes/MAGIC-WORKSHOP/) in 2013 that was co-organized by one of our Associate Editors, B. Emma Huang.
Supporting Afro-descendant populations The workshop – attended by a large number of intellectuals, academics and leaders of African descent from North America, Latin America and the Caribbean – was sponsored by the Juan Marinello Cuban Institute for Cultural Research and the Ministry of Culture of Cuba.
Taking into consideration these underappreciated aspects and realities of vulnerable populations, the workshop highlighted that modelling and simulations are invaluable tools that permit the rapid testing of hypotheses for the subsequent design and implementation of response strategies to address the needs of these populations.
We designed and conducted a workshop for an at-risk population of BEESS scientists postdoctoral and tenure track, but pre-tenured scientists who may not already have access to targeted professional development.
The workshop, organized by the Ministry of Health and Population, brought together participants directly involved with HIV/AIDS care, support and treatment in Egypt, as well as other participants indirectly concerned with the issue.
