Three major scientific branches determinant in the study of human evolution were targeted in these workshops, namely: biology, biological anthropology and its respective sub-divisions (e.g., paleoanthropology, human osteology, and primatology) and archaeology (Table 1).
The evaluation model is decomposed hierarchically into four main criteria namely: (1) workshop design, (2) quality of content of the workshop, (3) quality of delivery of the content of the workshop, and the (4) relevance of the workshop.
The favorite method of instruction was the same for Canada (70.6%), Australia (68.5%) and the Netherlands (84.7%), namely a workshop.
The proposed framework draws upon two distinct participatory approaches/tools that are used at both the 'learning stage' and the 'evaluation stage' (see Fig. 1), namely the: Future workshop participatory approach, which based on its structure and the participatory context it entails, supports planners to gather useful knowledge from a range of stakeholders (decision-makers, public etc).

There are moves to make the forthcoming Arctic workshop focus on what many consider as the biggest threats to cetaceans in the region, namely climate change and oil and gas exploration.
