Researchers hypothesize that CM is less widespread because of its cost, associated workload, difficulty of implementation, lack of fit with current interventions, and philosophical objections (Kirby et al. 1998; McGovern et al. 2004; Petry & Simcic 2002).
We had difficulty recruiting Practice Nurses to be interviewed (n = 5) and reasons cited included workload, difficulty freeing the time up in their working day and level of reimbursement.
The participants also cited multiple areas for improvement related to data sharing (e.g., time constraints, data being sent in a timely fashion) and to their standard practices in the community (e.g., busy workloads, difficulties in data sharing, duplication of assessments between professionals).
