These differences were related to the dive duration parameters and the within-dive orientation of dashes.
All populations are migratory and winter mainly at sea, usually in estuaries and bays, but often well offshore where fish are within diving reach near shallow banks or islands.
In order to investigate where prey pursuit occurred within dives we examined dash frequency at any given depth.
