The pathway is based on findings from Williams et al.'s [ 20] study in which they looked at the relationships of stress, job satisfaction and intention to withdraw from practice among practicing physicians.
In addition, Williams et al. [ 20] suggest that there are at least three paths leading to the intention for physicians to withdraw from practice; burnout is one of them.
