Countries with reliable registries for cancer and diabetes morbidities as well as electronic medical systems where reliable demographic and morbid data are available, including pharmacy data, will be best equipped to conduct such large-scale prospective epidemiologic studies.
The WA Data Linkage System 26 provides a unique opportunity to examine the long-term outcomes of CARP in a large population by linking routinely collected state-wide health administrative data with clinical registries for all CARP performed in WA.
The OCISS provided us with registry data for 9,402 incident cases of all cancer types.
