Note that given the "detection sample" sizes, all but two of the 18 new SNPs were detected in only one individual (accuracy checked with a replication of the sequencing for these rare variants, in addition to the double strand sequencing applied to all variants), the two remaining SNPs being detected in two individuals from different populations (see Table 3).
