The participants have a fairly limited view of clinical leadership and their perceptions are varied, with few common views.
Organizations producing guidelines may want to insure that those with less common views are included on guideline committees.
Others may feel that certain views about thresholds do not represent the values of the organization or that physicians with less common views would have a disproportionate impact on the recommendations.
"You're much more likely to get people hanging together for positive reasons than negative reasons," Mr. Morris said, "and those reasons have to do with companionship and common views".
