The Torah speaks of four sons, but the Republican Haggadah speaks of four candidates: The simple candidate (Santorum), the wicked candidate (Paul), the candidate who does not know how to answer (Romney), and the simple candidate who thinks he's the wise candidate (Gingrich).
And so sadder and wiser candidates, rising the morrow morn to hit the hustings and face the fearsome voter, may remember the instruction by that first willing suspender of disbelief: "I pass, like night, from land to land/I have strange power of speech;/That moment that his face I see,/I know the man that must hear me:/To him my tale I teach".
While this provides face validity to the interview process for both candidate and interviewer, it may also provide less biased responses from test-wise candidates, as the noncognitive attribute being measured is not stated explicitly in the vignette (as it is in the MMI).
On the Republican side (at least perception wise) the candidates that were viable were seen by most to be on the center-right.
