Functional and structural abnormalities of the glomerular filtration barrier result from these interactions, including the loss of nephrin and α3β1 integrin, cytoskeletal rearrangement, podocyte detachment, widening of the foot processes, and the accumulation of the mesangial and GBM matrices [ 2, 3, 22].
Figures 1 and 3 reveal a narrow tube of trajectories close to the bottom of the well, followed by a strong widening of the distribution in the process of climbing up the potential barrier.
