While a few songs, including the up-tempo "Give What You Gave," retain the playful feel of their previous efforts, on the whole Spokes is darker, more introspective, and at times more cinematic than ever.
Something she still held against the vieja, against the whole D.R. Spoke impeccable French and used it every chance she got, always made a show of reading thick-ass French novels like "La Cousine Bette," and that was what she wanted once her studies were over: to move to Paris, work for the U.N., read French books in a café.
The whole ethos of Broken Spoke is that the qualified bike technicians offer advice and help you, but you do the practical stuff, so that when you leave the workshop you know how to do it yourself.
"Research also shows that when people add a low-energy density starter, such as soup or salad, before their meal, they actually eat less at the whole meal," says Bridget Benelam, spokes- person for the Nutrition Society.
