JC: In the anthology Conductors of Chaos, which you edited in 1996, you use a phrase about the poetry incorporating "a secret history" – meaning an alternative movement.
In "The New Yorker Book of Literary Cartoons," which you edited, there's a cartoon by Ed Koren that asks, "If you were to boil your book down to a few words, what would be its message?" If you were to boil your own cartoons down to a few words, what would be the message?
