In addition to the Pfaffl Equation, there is another important partial equation that can be repetitively incorporated into a mathematical expression to form an equation (the ISU Equation) which generates values identical to that of the Pfaffl Equation.
Co-regulation or divergence in expression between pairs of duplicated genes was assessed by computing the Pearson's correlation coefficient (r) [ 32], which generates values ranging from -1 to 1.
