Using a SEM approach, three competing theories were contrasted, namely, (i) the "affective" model (where affect is seen as information processing heuristic), (ii) the "cognitive" model (where affect is seen as a post-cognitive process), and (iii) a " dual-process" model that integrates aspects from both theoretical perspectives.
