There was model support for significantly higher catch rates of tuna close to seamount summits when compared to further away for any species of tuna on 602 seamounts, representing 36% of all screened seamount (where n>100 longline sets was applied; Table 1).
To identify seamounts with significantly different catch rates close to their summits when compared to further away from the summit we restricted the data set to only the seamounts with more than 100 longline sets within 100 km from their summits.
This seems plausible when compared to states further South, all lagging in educational achievement and with little inwards migration.
