The pKM101 CC eluted from the StrepTrap HP column (GE Healthcare) was concentrated down to 500 μl at a final concentration between 5 and 10 mg/ml depending on the preparation.

Hexane (8 mL) was used to extract the acidified mixture 3 times after a 10-min mechanical shaking and centrifugation at 3000 rpm/min for 5 min.
