Despite the lack of many membrane proteins, ommatidial formation was not affected in dPob ∆4 photoreceptors in mosaic retina; adherence junctions formed normally and the apical membrane was well differentiated into stalks and rhabdomeres (identified with Crb and phosphorylated moesin, respectively) (Karagiosis and Ready, 2004).
In the present study, the 41 isolates can be well differentiated into their corresponding foci (Figure 2).
