Its measurement requires a static, attenuation-corrected scan, accurate calibration and body weight for normalisation.
Mice treated with as-miR-133α and TNBS showed a significant reduction in colon weight after normalisation against colon length (figure 5C, p<0.05), neutrophil infiltration, and an improvement in mucosal integrity which resulted in a significantly improved histological score (figure 5D, p<0.05).

Specifically, Mainz and colleagues showed GM reductions along the cortical midline that were reversible following recovery, with most significant increases in GM in the cerebellum, thalamus, hippocampus and amygdala, which also correlated with weight and hormone normalisation.
