During the week of data extraction the issue of whether the observers could exclude trials emerged, as there were instances where the observers were unable to locate any relevant data in the trial reports or felt that the trial did not meet the inclusion criteria in the Cochrane protocol.
Use of drinking straws within the first week of an extraction will greatly increase the risk of a dry socket.
