A life-sized animatronic Abraham Lincoln is among the historical figures and tableau scenes from a Gettysburg wax museum set to be auctioned, months after the town celebrated the 150th anniversary of his Gettysburg Address.
In America, male body shapes will wax and wane – over a period of half a decade, they might go from the "jock" to something skinny and then creep back to the current vogue, the "swimmer's" body – that is, not such a meathead that you could beat anybody up, but not so lanky that you look pubescent.
While the desire to help obviously comes from a genuine place, it doesn't help pop's own causes when they put on ridiculously bedazzled sunglasses and clothes that are uncomfortably fashionable, uncrossing their Louboutin-shod feet to wax lyrical about the injustices of the world.
And then the more that people buy something, the more absolutely essential that thing seems, from a Brazilian wax to a Vitamix juicer.

But it recently underwent an extensive renovation and it is now preparing to sell dozens of its historical figures – most made of vinyl, not wax – in what the auctioneer calls a once-in-a-lifetime sale.
The company estimates that 9 million people have walked through the wax museum since it opened in 1962, shortly before the centennial of the battle.
A memorable recent installation from the ever-electrifying Marc Bijl displayed a mesmerising, life-sized black Christ standing upon a stack of white painted pallets, hands outstretched, epoxy dripping like melting wax from arms, hands and face.
