The events must have (1) occurred between 1998 and 2014, (2) a focal depth shallower than 80 km, (3) a magnitude in the range of 4.0 ≤ M W  ≤ 5.5, and (4) an average variance reduction of waveform fitting between the observed and synthetic waveforms larger than 85% once the source parameters have been determined.

In [44], the authors have studied which quench waveform fits best for the different applications.

The waveform fits by the estimated model (Figs. 3a, 4c, d) are shown in Fig. 4b.
