Tissues were stained at 37°C for 24 hours before destaining in an increasing serial dilution of ethanol, mounted in water, visualized in an Olympus BX61 microscope (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Japan), and images were captured with the MICROSUITE software package (Olympus).
