This week an estimated 3,000 water professionals convened in Stockholm for World Water Week.

It contributes to the studies that highlight the new water professional as a transdisciplinary engineer capable of dealing with negotiation, cooperation or communication issues.

Policymakers and water sector professionals need to better acknowledge the potential for monitoring and managing water resources at a local or community level.

This policy has been followed by the Environment Agency and defended by water management professionals.

Lectures and training courses for other water resource professionals have allowed the transmission of basic concepts with relative ease.

With the hydroclimatic changes considered to be underway, water management professionals have been counseled to abandon historical assumptions of stationarity in the natural systems governing surface water replenishments.
