In fact, considering the 'hot drugs' waste, the application of our protocol produced a saving of €24,3477 in 2007, €22,4033 in 2008 and €21,0677 in 2009 (that is 32%, 29 % and 27 of the iv drugs waste costs) in addiction to over € 90,000 per annum saved since 2006 (when comparing to the pre-protocol era) even after the introduction of new high cost drugs.
