"There are no radiation problems before 1999 that we know of," said Josephine Jahier, Huntington's director of waste management.
NPR also discovered in state records a recent email exchange involving Lesslie and William Bider, the Kansas director of waste management.

But Joe Burke, director of sales at Action Environmental Services, a waste management company, said it costs more to pick up organic waste because the process, from pickup to dump, is much slower.
