A sample of 547 subjects completed a questionnaire based on ICHD-1 and provided data on mental vulnerability (12-item scale), depression (MDI), neuroticism (Eysenck Personality Questionnaire) and mental health-related quality of life (SF-12).
For START vulnerabilities the items that distinguished those not subsequently discharged were item 1 'social skills', item 2 'relationships', item 3 'occupational', item 6 'mental state', item 11 'social support', item 17 'insight', item 18 'plans', item 19 'coping' and item 20 'treatability' (Tables 7 and 8).
To investigate whether the TTT program reduces inappropriate sexual behavior and vulnerability, several separate items of the TTI (self-report n = 8 and parent-report version n = 12) (Dekker et al, in preparation) are used.
Case manager assessments in addition included the sum scores of all 20 vulnerability and strength items of the START, and the case manager's final risk estimate for violence against others.
