"I think it's a huge detriment," said Elise Low, vice president for voter service for the League of Women Voters of Connecticut.
Weyerhaeuser said that based on the number of proxies it had submitted to an independent voter service, it thought its slate of three directors would be elected, but Willamette said that the vote was too close to call and that results would not be known for two to three weeks.
Voter Service and Polling Centers are available in each county for at least 15 days leading into Election Day for voters to pick up ballots, vote in-person, update voter registration records, or register to vote.
Alice Jarboe, the manager of voter services in Sacramento County, one of at least six counties where the disputed punch-card voting systems are still in use, said the confusion and frustration came as no surprise.

But it remains to be seen whether his Air Force service will assuage voters in a state with a legacy of major military bases.
