Influence of synthesis parameters on thickness, electronic conductivity and volumetric charge density were studied to determine the guidelines for synthesizing highly efficient electrodes.
The membrane is characterized through the use of adjustable parameters such as the average pore radius, the effective membrane thickness and the volumetric charge density.
By using this approach we suggest the optimal conditions for performing membrane potential experiments (i.e. choice of electrolyte and concentration difference) depending on an easily accessible membrane property, namely the volumetric charge density.
The results show that the five parameters (volumetric charge density, distance from nozzle to collector, initial jet/orifice radius, relaxation time, and viscosity) have the most significant effect on the jet radius.
Based on simultaneous comparisons of the best-fit softness, volumetric charge density, mobility, and particle size profiles, functionalized microgels appear to deswell primarily through a consecutive core-shell mechanism.
