The type of non-thermal plasma employed in this study is called Dielectric Barrier Discharge (DBD) [23], which occurs at atmospheric pressure in air when high voltage of time-varying waveform is applied between two electrodes, with at least one electrode being insulated [24], that prevents current build-up, creating electrically safe plasma without substantial gas heating (Figure 1).
The mean voltage of the time series is filtered in the dominant frequencies of the spectrum corresponding to the theta band (from 6.5 to 7.5 Hz), and the cross-correlation function is computed via a sliding window of 300 ms width, displaced 50 ms from each other over the 60-s of continuous artifact-free LFP recordings for each behavioral state and mouse, separately.
The electrophysiological examination included comparison of the families of currents, G V and h∞-V curves, and the voltage-dependence of time constants for entry into and recovery from fast inactivated states using wild-type and mutant channels.

If the device recognizes the R wave by slew rate, which is the quotient of voltage over time, a wide QRS may impair accurate sensing of R voltage.

The electroporation time constant, which describes the exponential decay of the applied voltage with time, is indicative of whether a certain level of electrical discharge has occurred in the medium.
