This study was carried out on 68 patients (34 migraineurs with higher cortical functions (HCF) disturbances during the aura (HCD group) and 34 migraineurs with only visual or visual and sensory symptoms (Control group I) and 31 healthy controls (Control group II).
Dance movements, according to Khatchadourian, are instead, non-action voluntary activities that "consist in patterns of movement – either pure movement or movement representing certain imagined actions of imagined characters, imaginary situations, and so on – made by parts or the whole of the human body, creating dynamic visual, or visual and auditory, forms" (1978, 25).
Items were either repeated in the same modality (e.g., visual → visual or auditory → auditory), cross-modally (visual → auditory or auditory → visual), or not at all (filler items).
We confirmed that these two patients had skin melanomas accompanying the visual disturbances, but could not obtain a more detailed clinical history or data on visual acuity, visual field, or ERGs because these sera were sent from different hospitals several years ago.
No decrease in visual acuity, visual field or colour vision, or alterations in electroretinogram and electro-oculogram or hearing impairment, were detected in children studied during the first year of life or up to 4 years of age [ 105- 108].
In addition, these anomalies of vision may be compounded by underlying visual perceptuial difficulties such as visual stress (visual discomfort or Meares-Irlen syndrome) [7.8].
Reading difficulties may also result from perceptual visual disorders, which may be described as visual stress, visual discomfort or Meares-Irlen syndrome [ 6- 8].
The authors suggest that further work investigating the presence of visual stress, visual discomfort or Meares-Irlen syndrome is indicated in this particular group of subjects.
Rats are trained on a task-switching paradigm in which whether they turn left or right at the junction of a Figure 8 maze is determined by visual cues (visual discrimination) or from memory (alternation tasks).
The real clinical impact of subepithelial haze, whether it can affect visual acuity, visual quality or both it is still not clear: while some authors state that BCVA can be affected by subepithelial haze [ 22], others found no correlation with the visual acuity but only with visual quality in terms of forward light scatter or glare disability [ 23].
Standard tests such as visual acuity, visual field, electroretinography, or even contrast sensitivity may not adequately capture some aspects of improvement that relate to a better quality of life (QOL).
