The density of root canal filling were recorded as 1) adequate – filling uniformly packed without visible voids and canal spaces or 2) inadequate – filling with visible voids or canal spaces.
On the basis of AFM imaging we can see that MoS2 is transferred on top of H Si in a conformal fashion, with no visible voids or wrinkles.
When viewing the radiographs taken of the acrylic blocks, a significantly higher proportion (P < 0.001) of visible voids were noted in the hand-compacted group (90%) than in the ultrasonicated groups overall (22%).
Similarly, radiographically visible voids along root fillings were associated with a less favorable outcome [ 3, 10, 11]; however, Sjögren et al. [ 12] and Heling et al. [ 8] reported that the homogeneity of root fillings had no significant influence on the outcome.
Taken together, these observations are consistent with assembly of a ring from monomeric units of constant dimensions forming a central void visible with negative staining, such that when monomers were added, the width of the protein ring did not change, but the pore diameter increased correspondingly.
Formation of voids, visible using SEM and TEM methods, at the initial stage of SiC film growth on Si substrates has already been discussed in the literature [10 13].
The pore formation is clearly visible as hollow voids of various sizes that are incorporated in the bulk and the surface structures.
Homogeneity of root filling was considered as: a. Homogeneous root filling, good condensation, no voids visible (acceptable).
The nodular portion occasionally demonstrates flow voids visible in T1- and T2- sequences, while the cyst is slightly hyperintense in T1 images compared with CSF.
If the intensity was set to allow for the microfractures surrounding the vug in c to be visible, several falsely identified "void spaces" in the background would also be identified.
