Auditory stimuli and their relative synchronisation to the orthographic plws were similar as in Experiment 1, except that in Experiment 2 only looming and receding sounds were used and that orthographic plws were visible during the entire presentation of the sound (4 walking cycles).
This is a kind of realism, albeit one that has more to do with the way Mr Tort captures the essence of a moment or an experience than with his presentation of the visible world.
We used a novel "eyes-face" stimulus, where discrimination between sets of eyes was affected by the presentation of a visible congruent or incongruent face.
The purpose of this section is solely to make the distinctive contribution of phenomenology visible rather than being a complete presentation of all possible approaches.

Infrequent changes may also render such effects visible that would go unnoticed in successive presentation of original and modified pictures.

The task consisted in signalling the rare presentation of a natural landscape without visible humans (44 in all) by pressing a button as accurately and rapidly as possible with the index finger of the left or right hand.
We agree that the error bars were not clearly visible and we have altered the formatting to improve the presentation of the data.
