The 4,000 students returned to their barracks to prepare for a silent midnight vigil, the Point's traditional rite to mark the death of one of its own.
At the vigil, Romaine Patterson pointed us out to Judy and told her that we were "cool," though we felt anything but as we were funneled into the concert right behind the Shepards.
While subsequent, larger demonstrations gathered world attention on March 15th, the candlelight vigil marked the point where the barrier of fear had started to crumble.

The high point for this campaign was a vigil at the MLK Memorial in DC on June 30 , 2014 also attended by Richard Noble.
One of those attending the vigil on Monday said he was not there to point fingers.
