Despite the viewpoints against genetically modified organisms, Dr. Handa expects that his transgenic tomato will soon be used by the commercial tomato industry to produce tomato paste — almost two decades after he originally engineered it.
These are the viewpoints against which emerging technologies are reviewed and the capacity of some of them to address these issues explored.
From our viewpoint, protection against vector- borne diseases, such as chikungunya or dengue fevers, should benefit considerably from an exposure-related strategy, that is, modulating the fight against mosquitoes according to the level of exposure to the virus.

In the viewpoint paper against the use of blue light-filtering IOLs by Mainster and Turner [ 14], there were absences of reference to two relevant clinical investigations on scotopic vision [ 11, 16, 17] and three studies related to circadian photoentrainment and sleep disturbance [ 10, 18].
