V. cholerae, like other vibrios, is found commonly in marine and estuarine environments, living freely or on surfaces, such as plants and animal shells, and in intestinal contents of marine animals (1 ).
However, bacterial culture of Salmonella spp., Bacillus spp., Staphylococcus spp and Vibrio spp. were found to exhibit enhanced culturable cells by 1-log increase till 6 days of incubation which afeterward exhibied 1 log reduction.
Risk factors for Vibrio spp. infection were found in ten cases; 8 of them had liver disease.
In many organisms, including Gram-negative bacteria such as the gut bacteria Vibrio cholerae, spsC-orthologs were found.
In genome analyses, putative homing endonucleases (HEs) were found in Vibrio parahaemolyticus phages KVP40 and Vibrio cholerae ICP1 [ 8, 9].

Sixty three marine organism samples obtained from various estuarine areas of Spain including shrimps, crabs, bivalve mollusks and fishes were screened for presence of Vibrio species and 2 mussel samples were found positive for V. parahaemolyticus.
