The Catholic Church, which historically has played an outsized role in shaping public policy in Latin America, still has a strong influence over marriage and reproductive regulations, but a confluence of circumstances has made trans advocacy uniquely viable in these same countries.
For example a culture with only stressed but viable cells could result in the same spectra as a culture that consists of a heterogeneous mix of unstressed viable and non-viable cells.
C7 treatment (100 µM) of UPEC K1 followed by the same serum exposure resulted in <1% of the bacteria remaining viable, statistically the same as for the genetic capsule mutant (no significant difference by Tukey's Multiple Comparison Test).
We conclude that, while for any level of complexity (number of genes in the network) it is difficult to generate viable complex individuals at random, mating is relatively efficient in producing viable networks of the same level of complexity as those in the parents.
