My past work has investigated methods for improving generalization of machine learning models via intrinsic motivation, transfer learning, multi-task learning, and learning from human preferences.
This qualifies predictions that intention modification will have little impact on habitual behaviour (Triandis, 1977), and suggests that self-regulatory skills training may be a valuable addition to interventions aimed at modifying habits via reflective motivation change.
