In view of the frequent ventilation-on-demand (VOD) changes of branches during intensive production in coal mines, the models for regulating the ventilation resistance of associated branches and ventilator frequency were established.
No difference in ICU mortality, ICU length of stay, and duration of mechanical ventilation was found between the on-demand and daily routine groups, and the meta-analysis highly suggests abandoning routine CXRs.
Duration of mechanical ventilation was a few days longer (10.3 versus 13.9) as compared with our results (8.5 versus 12 days), but the difference (on-demand, 2.5 days shorter ventilation period) was consistent with our findings [ 3, 6].
