Developed by the Sarnoff Corporation, the former RCA laboratory that pioneered many basic video technologies, the Blinc, which can produce still and video images, matches the ability of the human eye to deal with widely varying light levels.
Once you get past all the bells and whistles, what you want is a camera that takes consistently good pictures in varying light levels without much futzing.
Unfortunately these differences only serve to illustrate the importance of small scale variations in temperature at this time, since the length of these in situ observations (<6 years) does not characterize seasonal and inter-annual temperature variability in a statistically significant way, and varying light levels are ignored.
The three-dimensional tracking and alignment algorithm has been shown to be successful in aligning multispectral images in the presence of a range of different motions, independent of varying light levels in the multispectral channel.
There were relatively high amounts of light variation in 9 of the images, so in these cases we compared "dark" lizard regions with corresponding "dark" background regions, and "light" lizard regions with corresponding "light" background regions, to further ensure that comparisons were not distorted by varying light levels.

In experiments varying light level and P supply, it was shown that P deficiency generally led to an increase in the root : shoot ratio (from below 20%to40%40 %) even under low-light conditions, due mainly to a decrease in shoot biomass while root biomass was kept constant or declined slightly under more severe P deficiency (Wissuwa et al., 2005).
Varying light bias levels expose the effects of, luminescence coupling, optical leakage, and shunt leakage currents on the detector performance.
Further, algal biomass can also be affected by varying light intensity under different levels of canopy cover (Alongi 1988).
The eye is also remarkably diverse: elements that have high resolution are clustered at the center of the field of vision, while sensing elements that function well at low light levels are around the periphery of the eye, giving human vision a great flexibility of range in varying light conditions that no artificial imaging system can yet match.
